VIDEO: MAXEasy Questions and Answers
A little goes a LONG WAY. Most people use way too much when they first use MAXEasy. One bottle of MAXEasy will treat 8-10 average size cars. You will quickly learn it disperses across the surfaces and spreads effortlessly when rinsing.
Wet Application Directions: Apply to a cool surface out of direct sunlight. Do not let dry on surface before wiping off. Test on a small hidden area to ensure compatibility.
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
Application: Wash the surface, ensure it is clean and still wet. You can spray the entire exterior of the vehicle using 1-4 sprays per panel. The hood is probably the only panel that would MAYBE need 4 sprays. If you are spraying more than 4 sprays on a panel, then you are over using and there will be excess product on the surface that will need to be wiped off when you are drying. Spray in a sweeping motion and space your spray lines out about 1.5 to 2 feet. You don't have to cover every square inch with MAXEasy because MAXEasy will spread very far when you rinse. Spray water from bottom up to spread the product around to all surfaces before rinsing off. Do not let MAXEasy dry on the surface. If you feel you won't make it around the car in a timely manner, then do the car in sections at a time. Working one panel at a time, spray MAXEasy on the panel, wait at least 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly.
To conserve product: spray on microfiber towel or applicator and on the surface (1-2 sprays). Wipe in straight lines to ensure even coverage. Rinse panel upwards starting at the bottom to help distribute the product and make contact with the entire surface. Move to next panel and repeat until all surfaces are treated. Rinse from the bottom up to spread MAXEasy around as you are rinsing it off. Rinse thoroughly. DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO DRY ON SURFACE.
Most popular application for vehicles: After washing the vehicle, while still out of direct sunlight, and while the vehicle is still wet, spray MAXEasy in a sweeping motion on each panel of the car (1-4 sprays per panel). Work your way around the car. By the time you have made it around the car and back to where you started, it should be ready to immediately rinse around and off. Your goal is to spread MAXEasy around as you are rinsing it off. Rinse until sudsing stops, and rinse a little more. You will notice an immediate hydrophobic effect when MAXEasy makes contact with the wet surface. This is the beginning of MAXEasy starting to bond.
Immediately Dry: After thoroughly rinsing, dry all surfaces with a clean, soft, quality drying towel such as the MAXL SoftSorb Drying Towel. You can also use a drying towel in conjunction with forced air from a leaf blower or an air compressor. The air will take off the bulk of the water as well as blow the water out of cracks, mirrors, and other hard to reach places; then the towel can finish it off. Do not waste time with the leaf blower because the MAXL SoftSorb Drying Towel will dry off surfaces much faster. The air is mainly to blow water out of places that are hard to reach and bulk water off of large surfaces. While drying, look for areas where there may be excess product and smooth those out as you go using the drying towel. Do not leave any standing water on the surface at all. (Do NOT use a chamois ("shammy") as those cause many issues such as smears, streaking, scratches, as well as cause other problems.)
"After washing and rinsing the soap off, I can apply MAXEasy to the entire car, rinse it off, and dry it in less than 4 minutes."
Maintenance: Use MAXEasy frequently to maintain a brilliant shine and instantly protect and hydrophobe all surfaces to maintain a like-new, protected, and self-cleaning surface.
Dry Application Directions: Apply to a clean cool surface out of direct sunlight. Do not let dry on surface before wiping off. Test on a small hidden area to ensure compatibility.
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
On a clean vehicle, spray MAXEasy into a soft microfiber towel, spray 1 or 2 sprays on the surface, then wipe it in. Flip the towel to a dry side to wipe off, then use a second clean dry soft microfiber towel to hand buff it to a pretty finish. If you applied too much, wipe in very wide sweeping motions to spread the excess product over untreated areas, or use a damp microfiber towel to remove any excess product.
MAXEasy's hydrophobic performance drastically increases over a 24-48 hour period. When the vehicle is in direct sunlight, MAXEasy will bond even stronger from the heat, and the performance, as well as the durability, will increase even more.
For fabric, carpet, upholstery: Spray on fabric then wipe in using a microfiber towel. Multiple treatments may be required.
Tips: Use a soft microfiber towel and apply minimal pressure to prevent scratching. Safe for all surfaces and compatible with window tints. Allow 24-48 hours to fully cure.
Do not use a chamois, also known as "shammy", it will cause streaks. They also will scratch surfaces. After applying and rinsing MAXEasy, you want to completely dry the car. Use a soft drying towel such as the MAXL SoftSorb Drying Towel to completely dry the vehicle. The SoftSorb drying towel is the best because it instantly absorbs water on contact. One SoftSorb drying towel can dry an entire car without scratching because it is so soft. The SoftSorb drying towel gives you the ability to apply MAXEasy to the entire average size car, rinse it off, and dry it, all in less than 4 minutes.
Store MAXEasy in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Do not allow to freeze. (Chemicals in liquid form do not like big temperature swings and they definitely do not like to freeze!)
MAXEasy is the easiest, high-performance coating in the world. It is also the most versatile. It can be applied to just about anything. It is very popular for vehicle and home use. MAXEasy can be applied many ways: 1. Spray on rinse off, 2. Spray on, wipe in, then wipe off with a dry microfiber towel (the ole "wax on, wax off" routine), 3. Spray into towel or applicator to wipe on then wipe off with a dry towel (another variation of "wax on, wax off"), and 4. Foam cannon. MAXEasy will transform a surface into a self-cleaning surface meaning the surface accumulates less dirt and is much easier to clean. For example, after a rain, a vehicle coated with MAXEasy may look freshly washed. MAXEasy also makes surfaces look new and richer. It makes glossy surfaces extremely glossy and matte/satin surfaces look new and richer. MAXEasy will not artificially shine a matte/satin surface. MAXEasy uses a new technology called Triphene. It instantly bonds, is instantly hydrophobic, and can have a jetting or richening effect on many surfaces. MAXEasy can be used on just about any surface except porous surfaces like untreated concrete or wood since a thicker coating is required for those types of surfaces.
MAXEasy is instantly hydrophobic and is chemical resistant within 24-48 hours. Wait 48 hours before washing with chemicals. For best results, MAXEasy needs to dwell on surface for at least 1-3 minutes before rinsing off. You will notice an immediate hydrophobic effect when MAXEasy makes contact with a wet surface. This is the beginning of MAXEasy starting to bond. The hydrophibic performance drastically increases over a 24-48 hour period. When the vehicle is in the sun, MAXEasy will bond even stronger from the heat, and performance as well as durability will increase even more.
One treatment of MAXEasy can last anywhere from a couple months to a year depending on how much abuse it takes. Generally, MAXEasy will last 3000+ miles on the average car considering the average car's exposure to the elements. MAXEasy will last well over 10 washes. MAXEasy is designed to be used regularly for continuous protection, hydrophobicity (self-cleaning), and shine. However, some parts of the vehicle will wear faster than others due to abrasive forces of dirt, salts, and other contaminants found on the road physically and mechanically abrading the surface at speed. MAXEasy is designed to be used regularly to maintain a pristine looking surface and a protective self-cleaning coating indefinitely. Many people like to use MAXEasy frequently so they will have 100% uptime. Some like to reapply MAXEasy when they notice water beads not sliding and zipping off of their windshield as fast as they used to. It is personal preference.
MAXEasy will last well over 10 washes with a Ph neutral soap. It's best to reapply it after every wash to keep it freshly coated since you never know what parts of the vehicle may have worn faster than others. Some parts of the vehicle will wear faster than others due to abrasive forces of dirt, salts, and other contaminants found on the road physically and mechanically abrading the surface at speed. MAXEasy is designed to be used regularly to maintain a pristine looking surface and a protective self-cleaning coating indefinitely. Use after every wash and you will have 100% uptime.
MAXEasy can be used on practically anything. You can spray it on and rinse it off or you can spray it on and wipe it off. Not only can it be used on your entire car inside and out, but many people also use it for their home and business. It can be used on windows, siding, sinks, showers, glass, metal, anything glossy, etc. It is very easy to use and lasts a very long time. MAXEasy makes everything look new and richer in appearance.
The term "ceramic" is a marketing term in car care and does not fall in the true definition of ceramic in material science. Yes. MAXEasy is easier and faster to use than those "ceramic" products, because with MAXEasy with Triphene you can do your entire car in seconds and it outperforms the "ceramic" sprays. MAXEasy also matches the performance of professionally installed 3yr+ coatings that cost into the $1,000's. It can out perform some of the professionally installed coatings as well. So it works really well to easily maintain those professionally installed coatings.
MAXL study's the field of science called Biomimetics or Biomimicry. Nature has already figured all of this out. Nature doesn’t try to build super strong protective barriers that last years. It instead just simply regrows them. That's the science behind Triphene which is what is in MAXEasy.
MAXEasy is so easily applied and so quick to apply, you are most likely going to use it all the time to re-grow the protective barrier on your surfaces. That will always outperform any other coating over a long period of time. When you are constantly "growing" a new barrier, the environment has a very hard time of getting through it.
There's an argument there that hardness level helps, which it can help with abrasion, but hardness level in the world of car care coatings is very misleading. Companies measure the hardness level of their coatings on the Pencil Hardness Scale, which is not that strong of a scale at all. It's not like the Mohs Hardness Scale that measures the hardness of gems. So you see car care companies using terms like "diamond" and "10H" trying to sway you into thinking their coating is as hard as a diamond, which is absolutely false.
These 3yr+ professionally installed coatings can be good and have a place, but you have to maintain them. And the way you maintain them is to constantly put a sacrificial protective barrier over them (a "topper"). If you don't, they develop scratches, spiderwebbing, and swirl marks just like any surface will, hence "voiding warranties".
That's why MAXEasy is awesome to use as a maintenance / booster coating over 3yr+ professional coatings. MAXEasy will have better hydrophobicity and shine than several of them and will make them last longer and perform better.
MAXEasy replaces and outperforms all those spray and wipe "ceramic" products that are normally used as the sacrificial "topper" barrier.
MAXEasy even works awesome on glass where those "ceramic" spray and wipe coatings do not last or perform well on glass.
MAXEasy is a dream come true for detailers to use with their maintenance clients because it is so fast, easy, and has equal performance to the pro-coatings. MAXEasy is phenomenal on glass too! MAXEasy is designed to be a sacrificial layer that you constantly regrow instantly at will like Nature would do.
In materials science, the term "ceramic" refers to a wide range of materials that are hard, non-metallic, inorganic compounds that are typically made by heating and subsequent cooling. Ceramics include materials like clay (used in pottery), porcelain, bricks, tiles, glass, and advanced materials like alumina, silicon carbide, and many others. These materials are generally composed of silicates (which include silica or silicon dioxide), oxides, nitrides, carbides, etc., and they exhibit properties such as hardness, brittleness, heat resistance, and electrical insulation.
The presence of silica (SiO2) is common in many ceramic materials because it acts as a fundamental building block in their structure, particularly in silicate ceramics. However, not all products containing silica qualify as ceramics. The key difference lies in the material's composition, structure, and production process. For a product to be considered ceramic, it typically undergoes processes like firing at high temperatures to achieve desired physical and chemical properties, such as hardness, structural stability, and resistance to heat and corrosion.
In marketing, some companies may describe their products as "ceramic" to imply that they share some of the desirable properties of traditional ceramics, such as durability or heat resistance. This is particularly common with products like "ceramic coatings" or sealants for automotive and other applications, which may contain silica or silicates to improve their performance characteristics. While these products might exhibit certain ceramic-like properties due to their silica content, it doesn't mean they are ceramics in the traditional sense of materials science.
Therefore, while silica is a common component in ceramics, its presence alone in a product does not automatically make that product a ceramic. The classification depends on the material's composition, structure, and how it's been processed.
Just because a product has silica in it like a ceramic, doesn't mean that it is a ceramic. It would be like calling a Twinkie snack cake a "Gourmet Wedding Cake" because they both contain sugar.
Yes, but it is always best to wash with a high quality shampoo such as MAXWash to try and remove most of the old product. MAXEasy will bond better if there is nothing on the surface resisting it. If you have areas that still have old product still left on them, then you will most likely see some hazing or streaking that you can easily buff off using a soft microfiber towel. The hazing or streaking is the old product or something on the surface trying to fight MAXEasy from bonding. MAXEasy will eventually work around those larger molecules since it has a much smaller molecular profile. Just wipe the areas to break up the fight, and you should be good to go!
MAXEasy can handle up to about 600° F (300°C) before it starts to degrade. Once applied, the hotter MAXEasy gets, the stronger it's bond becomes. On glass it can form a permanent bond when it gets hot enough.
Yes, if you received MAXEasy and it has white clumps floating in it, that means that it froze and broke. Chemicals do not like to freeze. Contact us at support@maxl.com so we can replace it, or if you purchased from another place such as Amazon, contact them for a replacement. Let us know if you have any issues getting a replacement so we can make sure you are taken care of!
Yes. Immediately use a wet/damp microfiber towel to wipe the excess off and smooth the area out to a perfect finish. DO NOT LET MAXEASY DRY PREMATURELY BEFORE YOU HAVE FULLY DRIED THE CAR AND ADDRESSED ALL AREAS OF EXCESS PRODUCT ON THE SURFACE.
One bottle of MAXEasy is enough to treat about 8-10 average size cars. Most people tend to use too much when they first get MAXEasy. Once you get used to how easy and how far MAXEasy will spread, you learn that you can use a lot less. It's similar in principle of when you put too much lotion on your skin, once a layer of lotion has covered your skin, the excess has no where to go, so you have to wipe it off. It is much easier to wipe off before it has dried.
You don't have to cover every square inch with MAXEasy. Usually 1-4 spray lines per panel spaced apart about 18" or so is all you need. After you rinse, if you notice that you missed a spot, no big deal, just go back and hit it with MAXEasy, wait 30-60secs, then rinse. Just remember that MAXEasy needs about 30-60 seconds before you rinse it around so it has time to do its thing. And you rinse around before rinsing it off. You are just trying to spread it thoroughly. It's best to rinse from the bottom up to make sure it spreads everywhere.
If you use too much (streaking, oily residue, film, haze, etc.), then you will have excess product on the surface that will need to be wiped off before it dries. Applying in direct sunlight will cause these issues as well. You want to apply MAXEasy to a cool surface and be out of direct sunlight for the entire process. The UV from sunlight causes MAXEasy to bond much faster.
Always immediately and thoroughly dry off the vehicle using a soft drying towel such as the MAXL SoftSorb Drying Towel. Some people like to use a leaf blower to blow the bulk of the water off, out of cracks, wheels, etc. Then use the MAXL SoftSorb Drying Towel to finish it off to a perfect finish. The SoftSorb drying towel absorbs water instantly on contact, and one towel will dry an entire car without scratching because it is so soft. While using the drying towel, look for areas on the surface where there may be too much product or where it wasn't rinsed well enough, and smooth those areas out as you dry.
After washing and rinsing the soap off, one can apply MAXEasy to the entire car, rinse it off, and dry it in less than 4 minutes.
No, MAXEasy will not affect the brakes or rotors. The mechanical abrasion force of brakes will eat through any thin coating practically instantly.
Yes! MAXEasy will work in a foam cannon. Set the foam adjustment knob to wide open as you do not want to dilute the product too much, usually 50/50 dilution works best. Simply foam MAXEasy on, then rinse it around with water to spread and maximize coverage as you rinse it off. Rinse until you see no more sudsing. Do not allow MAXEasy to dry on the surface before rinsing it off. Immediately dry the vehicle using something soft like the SoftSorb Drying Towel. While drying, look for areas where there may be excess product and smooth those out as you go using the drying towel. MAXEasy in a foam cannon is great for covering large areas fast such as RV's, Trucks, Houses, and more!
When most people use the phrase "water sheeting" what they are actually meaning is "slide angle". MAXEasy has a great slide. MAXEasy reaches peak performance once it has cured for 24-48 hours, especially in direct sunlight, and water will bead and slide off very easily.
Water sheeting is something completely different and you don't really want "water sheeting". What you do want is a great "slide angle".
Understanding how water behaves on your vehicle's surface can provide valuable insights into the level of protection your vehicle has. While it might seem advantageous for water to sheet off an unprotected surface, this isn't necessarily an indication of better protection. It actually is worse. Here’s why:
Water Beading Indicates Strong Protection: When water forms beads on a hydrophobic coated surface, it's a sign that the coating is doing its job effectively. The beading means that the surface tension of the water is being disrupted, preventing water from spreading out flat. This is crucial because less water contact with the surface means less chance for water-borne contaminants to adhere. If water will stick to it, practically anything will stick to it.
Easier Cleaning and Maintenance: Water beading on a coated surface makes cleaning your vehicle much simpler. Dirt and contaminants are less likely to stick to the surface, and when they do, they are often encapsulated within the water beads, which can easily be wiped or rinsed away.
Long-Term Protection from Elements: Hydrophobic coatings provide a barrier that protects your vehicle's paint from various elements, including UV rays, dirt, and pollutants. This protection helps in maintaining the integrity of the paint over time, which is something an unprotected, water-sheeting surface does not offer.
Minimized Water Spotting: Water that sheets off an unprotected surface can leave behind minerals and contaminants as it dries, leading to water spots and blanket damage over wide areas. On a hydrophobic surface, the minimized contact area of the water beads reduces the likelihood of water spotting and eliminates blanket contamination over wide areas.
Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal: Apart from the protective benefits, a hydrophobic coating with water beading creates a visually appealing effect on your vehicle's surface. It enhances the shine and depth of the paint, contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of your vehicle.
In summary, while water sheeting off might seem effective, a hydrophobic coating that causes water to bead up provides a higher level of protection, easier maintenance, and a better overall appearance for your vehicle.
To remove MAXEasy from paint: MAXEasy can be removed by using a fine polish along with a DA polisher and a polishing pad, or use the fine polish with a YellowCell Hypersoft Mini sponge. It doesn't take much. You would use a few of dime size drops on the polishing pad or Mini to buff it off. Work in 12" x 12" or 24" x 24" sections at a time to keep it simple. Check the surface of your polishing pad or Mini often to make sure there is nothing hard on it that could potentially scratch. There may not be, but that is a safe habit to have. Clean the material off of your pad or mini often using compressed air and/or a pad brush. Use a microfiber towel to wipe the polish residue off of the surface and inspect the surface for desired result. This will also increase the shine of the finish as well as remove or minimize fine swirls and scratches.
To remove MAXEasy from glass: The above methods will work on glass as well. Slightly more aggressive methods can be used on glass than paint. Using a magic eraser will remove MAXEasy from glass as well. Using a razor blade and a glass cleaner as the lube is a more aggressive way to remove MAXEasy from glass. A glass polish will work to remove MAXEasy from glass as well.
