Create a perfectly smooth surface before you protect.
Bonds to fine contaminants and lifts them off the surface without scratching. Leaves paint feeling genuinely glass-smooth — something washing alone can never do.
Cuts through bug residue, sap mist, overspray, and tar specks. The white fabric shows dirt as you work so you always know exactly when to rinse and flip.

FIRST USE ONLY
Break In on glass before touching paint.
Spray lubricant (MAXRemove, MAXWash, or MAXL ONE) onto your windshield and on the clay side. Glide in straight lines for 30-60 seconds, then wipe dry. Do this once and your towel is now ready for paint.
Remove loose dirt and debris before you start. Never clay a dirty surface — loose grit will scratch the paint.
Spray lubricant on the surface and the towel — keep both wet the entire time. Glide in straight lines, top to bottom. Hand weight only. No pressure, no scrubbing.
Wipe the panel dry and run your hand across it. Still feels rough or gritty? Re-lubricate and repeat. Feels glass-smooth? Move to the next panel.
Claying removes your existing protection. Always finish with a Triphene coating (MAXL ONE or MAXEasy) before you're done.

No, not as long as you keep the surface and towel wet throughout. RESMOOTH works by gliding across a lubricated surface, lifting contaminants without digging in. Never use it dry, never use it on a dirty surface, and always use hand weight only — no pressing or scrubbing. If you follow those rules, you'll get glass-smooth results every time.
RESMOOTH removes bonded surface contaminants that washing alone can't get off — including paint overspray and mist, bug residue after pre-treating and washing, tar and asphalt specks, brake dust and rail dust dots, light tree-sap mist and pollen film, waterline scum on gelcoat, rubber transfer marks, and light sticker or tape adhesive haze.
For most daily drivers, 1–2 times per year is enough. A good rule: run your hand across a clean, dry panel. If it feels rough or gritty like sandpaper, it's time to clay. You should also always decon before applying any wax, sealant, or coating — even if you recently washed. Washing removes loose dirt; claying removes what's bonded to the surface.
Yes and new cars often need it most. During shipping and storage, vehicles sit in lots collecting rail dust, industrial fallout, and brake particles from nearby vehicles. That contamination bonds to the paint before you ever drive it off the lot. If your new car's paint feels rough when you run your hand across it, RESMOOTH will fix that. Just follow the standard process: wash first, keep it wet, hand weight only.
The Clay/Prep side has a textured surface that bonds to fine contaminants and lifts them off the paint without scratching, leaving surfaces feeling genuinely glass-smooth. The Bug Mesh side is designed to cut through heavier residue like bug splatter, sap mist, overspray, and tar specks. The white fabric on both sides shows dirt as you work so you always know exactly when to rinse and flip.
RESMOOTH works with three MAXL products depending on how much decontamination you need.
1) Use it with MAXRemove for the most aggressive decontamination — best for iron deposits, heavy bug buildup, water spots, and tough stains.
2) Use it with MAXWash for medium decontamination — best for stuck bug guts, tough films, and moderate contamination.
3) Use it with MAXL ONE for moderate decontamination — best for light films, stains, and regular maintenance.
Always wash or clean loose dirt off the surface first before using RESMOOTH with any of these.
Unlike a clay bar, RESMOOTH can be rinsed clean. If you drop it, pick it up, rinse it thoroughly under running water until the grit is flushed out, and inspect the surface before continuing. Don't use it again until you've confirmed no debris is embedded. This is one of the reasons a clay towel beats a clay bar for most people. One drop doesn't end your session.
Yes, with an important note: claying will strip your existing protection. After using RESMOOTH on a wrapped vehicle, you need to re-apply protection — use MAXL ONE, a sealant, or your coating's recommended maintenance product. If you're trying to maintain an existing PPF without disturbing it, use MAXRemove (iron remover) as a chemical-only option instead.
Yes. RESMOOTH is safe for paint, glass, chrome, coated metal, wheels, and gelcoat (boats and RVs). Always test on delicate or matte finishes first before using on the full surface.
Yes — RESMOOTH works on a variety of household surfaces too, always using wet, hand-weight pressure only. It can tackle oven-door glass carbon haze, ceramic and glass cooktops, shower glass mineral and soap film, stainless steel appliances, sealed granite and marble, tile and glazed porcelain, and glass tables and mirrors. For stone surfaces, note that RESMOOTH removes material sitting on top of the surface — deep stains require stone-specific cleaners.
Rinse the towel frequently during use to flush out contaminants as you go — the white fabric makes this easy since you can see the dirt. After use, machine wash it separately in warm water without fabric softener. Fabric softener can clog the fibers and reduce its decontamination effectiveness. Air dry or tumble dry on low.
